Drop Off – 9 Sep 18

Plymouth Sound Divers at the Eddystone Lighthouse

As the weather conditions were fantastic on the 9th September a group of divers planned to venture out to Hand Deeps as a first dive then to the Elk for a Second dive, but due to unforgiving big sea swells we was unable to get out as far as we had planned, so decided to dive the Drop Off.

This site is close to the Breakwater, and a long reef starting at approximately 30m dropping down to around 40m, this site can be quite silty and vis not always guaranteed, but today it was the best I have seen for a very long while.  Lots of marine life, including many crawfish of all sizes, crabs, congors, Tompot Blennies, lots of pretty sponges, sea fans, dead mans fingers and if your lucky, Sunset Coral.  Vis around 4-6m and sea temp around 15c.  Here are a few piccies of our dive that day.
