Charlwood – 30 Sep 18

Plymouth Sound Divers at the Eddystone Lighthouse

Five of us took the Tornado out to dive the wreck of the Charlwood in 62m.  Both the weather and underwater visibility were kind and the shot was well positioned in the middle of wreckage.

We operated as two waves with 80-110 min run times which worked very well without the current causing any real issues.

Prior to departure.  Notice all divers feeling reassured by presence of Safeguarding Officer.

Mrs Downs’ really rather good cakes – 2nd wave only

Tar originally stored in long rotted away barrels up against the hull

This bulkhead is believed to divide a hold from the bow which has now collapsed.

This wreck is full of low quality glassware destined for Chile.
