Five members had a fantastic dive on the Oregon wreck a sailing ship which sunk by hitting a reef out near Thurlestone. She’s a tricky wreck to find, but we’ve mastered this now. We were very grateful to have 2 non diving coxes so the divers could dive in one wave.

Thanks to Nautical Nick for launching and recovering the Rib. Thanks to Richard Jones for coxing.
Lots to see: several octopus, loads of crawfish, spider crabs, edible crabs, lobsters, cuttlefish, tunicate football sea squirts and loads and loads of fish everywhere

Here’s my footage of my dive today with buddy Lönja Selter.
We had such a lovely relaxing dive. This wreck is quite flat and sprawled out but it never disappoints. We saw at least 6 octopus hiding in their dens. There are loads of crawfish, lobsters, spider and edible crabs, cuttlefish, congers, red deadman’s fingers, sea fans, many large football tunicate sea squirts, and soooo many fish. The vis was surprisingly good at 10m+
Hope you enjoy this aquarium on the Oregon footage ![]()
