Training & Equipment
Plymouth Sound BSAC is able to offer diver training across the full range of the BSAC Diver Training Programme. The Branch also runs regular Skill Development Courses in subjects like Boat Handling, Oxygen Administration, Practical Rescue Management, Chartwork and Position Fixing, Wreck Apreciation and Marine Life Identification.
Training is provided by the Branches Instructors who have nationally recognised qualifications, including Open Water, Advanced and National Instructors.
Already qualified with another agency and have non BS-AC diving qualifications (PADI, SAA, NAUI etc) and want to further develop your diver skills?
No problem, we welcome divers who have learned to dive with other training agencies and can offer BSAC crossover training programmes which allow you to build on what you already know.
If you have any questions relating to training please email: email@example.com (Rob Jackson)
We have two rigid Inflatable Boats, a 5.8 m Tornado and a 6.8m Ribcraft fully equipped with 115 HP and 225 HP engines respectively, VHF radios, EPIRB, O2 kits, echo sounders and GPS navigators. The branch has its own air compressor with clean air filters for oxygen clean cylinders and a large storage bank. Air is FREE to all members. The club also has Nitrox and Trimix facilities and charges members £4.50 minimum for nitrox fills, slightly more for richer mixes, helium and oxygen is charged by the litre.
